Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a FiPhO® Health Score?

A FiPhO® Health Score is a single number (from 0-100) that reveals the Financial, Physical and Operational health of an association. It's similar to how a FICO® score reflects a person's creditworthiness.

2. Why was the FiPhO® Health Score created?

The FiPhO® Health Score was created to provide a uniform and independent scoring system for Associations, with the goal of improving their overall heath by introducing a long overdue level of accountability and transparency to the industry.

3. How does the FiPhO® Health Score benefit Associations?

The FiPhO Health Score is a measurable way for Boards (or their Fiduciary Agents), and Owners not on the Board to work together toward a common goal of protecting property values. Using the FiPhO Health Score as a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the “business” of running the Association means prioritizing and supporting Board decisions that lead to the improved financial, physical, and operational health of the Association.

4. How does AIM benefit Boardmembers?

Boardmembers of Associations-governed communities represent the largest body of “elected officials” in the US! However, serving as a volunteer is often difficult and unpleasant and unlikely to bring one much pleasure or the appreciation of those they serve. AIM is geared toward Affirming, Inspiring, and Motivating overworked and underappreciated Boardmembers in the midst of performing an often thankless job.

5. How much does it cost?

AIM is a free public service, where Boardmembers (or their Fiduciary Agents), and Owners not on the Board can claim their association and view their FiPhO® Health Score online, at no cost!

6. How is the FiPhO® Health Score calculated?

AIM calculates the score based on a proprietary mathematical algorithm that considers Financial, Physical, and Operational behaviors. These behaviors come from Profile information provided directly to AIM by Boardmembers (or their Fiduciary Agents).

7. How long does it take to learn our score?

It takes about 15 minutes for Boardmembers (or their Fiduciary Agents), to claim their Association and learn the FiPhO® Health Score. Simply search for your association and complete the profile information. It's that easy.

8. What is the scoring range?

FiPhO® Health Scores range from 0-100. A score <50 means the Association has room for improving their overall health. A score of 50 or more represents an association on the healthier side of the bell curve. The closer to 100, the better!

9. How often is my score updated?

Your association's score is re-calculated in real time whenever the information in your profile is updated by the Board (or their Fiduciary Agent).

10. Doesn't the profile information get outdated?

We rely on Boards (or their Fiduciary Agents) to maintain their AIM accounts and will send period reminders to review and update certain profile information.

11. Does viewing our FiPhO® Health Score cost anything?

For Claimers (i.e., Boards, Fiduciary Agents, and Owners not on the Board) with a relationship to the Association, the FiPhO® Health Score is always viewable online at no cost.

Outside parties (i.e. Buyers and the businesses that serve them) can purchase a downloadable AIM Report with FiPhO® Health Score and/or various Association Documents that are listed for sale by the Association.

Note: Proceeds from the sale of the AIM Report with FiPhO® Health Score go to AIM to keep this public service functioning. Proceeds from the sale of Association Documents go to the Association (or their Fiduciary agent, with Board approval), minus a nominal transactional fee.

12. Can we learn our FiPhO® Health Score, but keep it private?

Absolutely. Just toggle AIM Report with FiPhO® Health Score from the green “For Sale” position to the red “Not Listed” position on your Association's home page.

13. If our Board updates our Reserve Study and funds it per plan, why should we further involve ourselves with AIM?

Data from a Reserve Study is only one aspect of the algorithm used in computing your FiPhO® Health Score. There are other Financial, Physical, and Operational behaviors that contribute to the score and serve to provide a more complete picture of the overall health of the association.

14. How does the FiPhO® Health Score benefit outsiders?

The transparency of AIM benefits Buyers and the businesses that serve them by be providing a way to compare the FiPhO® Health score and obtain Association Documents from multiple associations before anyone engages in a real estate transaction. A platform capable of delivering this key information insightfully, inexpensively, and instantly on a 24/7 basis is a breakthrough in the industry.

15. What if we don't want to list any of our association documents for sale?

No problem. Once the documents are uploaded to AIM, you can toggle files from the green “For Sale” position to the red “Not Listed” position on your Association's Documents tab.

16. What “entitlements” do different types of “Claimers” have?

“Boardmembers” have the power to Claim a relationship with the Association, add/edit/view Profile information, upload Association Documents, view the FiPhO® Health Score and “release” the claim of any other Claimer

“Fiduciary Agents” have the same powers as the Board, except they can't release the claim of a Boardmember.

“Owners (not on the Board)” have the power to Claim a relationship with the Association, and only view Profile information and the FiPhO® Health Score.

17. What's to keep some bad actor within the Association from “fudging” our profile to achieve a better or worse score?

The accountability and transparency on which AIM is based ensures there is nowhere to hide! Just as Wikipedia.org is edited by volunteers from around the world, AIM relies on all the other “Claimers” with a relationship to the Association to ensure that Profile information is accurate. In addition, we have various fraud prevention and fraud detection protocols in place.

18. What if someone “claiming” our association is an imposter or fraud?

It's simple. On the Claimers tab, select that person and release that person's “Claim” on your Association. If they become a true pest, use the Help button to notify an AIM Success Representative and that person will be prevented from ever re-engaging with the AIM website.
